A New Year

2008. Little did I know that when I published this entry,Transitions , that it would take on an entirely different meaning as the remaining months of 2007 passed. The neat little package that Anastacia and I had envisioned in the days surrounding that posting was not to be. Upon graduation, we found a tougher job market than expected; mainly, due to our decision to stay in Seattle for a couple more years. My employer keeps making it increasingly difficult to leave; life is good.

The exciting new horizons we expected came forth in an entirely unsuspecting form...a baby girl. Anastacia found out she was pregnant in October. It was definitely a surprise, the best one yet. My good friend, Jud, said he pitied the poor boy who would come out to take any daughter of mine out on a date. He's probably right. It has certainly put us on an exciting roller coaster of emotion: excitement, trepidation, happiness, et cetera. June will be here before we know it.

After much hard work, two telephone interviews, and three on-site interviews, Anastacia is now the latest addition to the Swedish Medical Center's Stroke Team. She will be working with one other P.A., two Nurse Practitioners, and three physicians. She is very excited to be a part of this, a nationally recognized, team. Swedish is familiar ground for her; she worked at the Swedish Sleep Medicine Institute for seven years before entering Physician Assistant school.

2008 is filled with promise and challenges. I can't wait.
